Playlist #1595 for Global Village (PBS-FM, Melbourne, Australia) for Sunday August 21, 2022. Today's Global Village explores the fine line between traditional, folk and classical music, both in western modes, but also in Carnatic and Persian music. We also hear an extended and illustrated discussion about Ukrainian music in Eurovision, courtesy of Toronto-based journalist and broadcaster Daniel Rosenberg of Cafe International. There's a long piece from a festival in the Czech Republic, an exploration of the diverse aspects of German group Gankino Circus, and we finish with an accordionist from Belarus who is in self-exile in Prague. Roger Holdsworth presenting. (A): Australian artists - all or partly.
